Letter to the Editor: Don't judge a (teen) book by its cover

Editor:

In my last 16 years of life, the only thing I have found most difficult in the past five months is the fact that I cannot find a job.

I have applied to over 10 places near and far, and have yet to receive any call back. I get it I'm a teenager, female to be exact. My biggest concern is the fact that these businesses are putting ads in the paper or on their windows, but when someone interested applies, that person gets nothing ... not even a single call.

I have called back to every single place several times showing my interest in the job, but all I seem to get is "we aren't hiring" or "we'll give you a call back later."

My understanding is that not everyone wants a teenaged student to be employed at their workplace, but don't judge a book by its cover. You never know what you're missing out on.
