I learned recently that Congressman Bob Goodlatte voted against providing federal aid to Hurricane Sandy victims in the Northeast.
I am appalled that he showed a lack of humanity in refusing to help those Americans who suffered severely from that storm.
I have always believed that Americans pulled together in times of adversity to help each other. Not only is it the American thing to do, I believe that it is the Christian thing to do.
I hope that others who have supported Goodlatte do not share his views in this matter and will let him know that his action is contrary to their beliefs and values.
I think that it is essential that all Americans share values of helping each other in times of need.
