Letter to the Editor: Shenandoah County needs a no kill shelter
Editor: As an advocate for animals, I am asking for the Shenandoah County Animal Shelter to become a no kill shelter. Recently, I called the shelter to check on the status of a surrendered animal. I was informed that he had not only gone to a home that was well suited for him, but also that the new owner "fell in love with his face." I was checking on his status because our rescue was working on getting him placed into a home, at the very least a foster home. Animals don't have a voice, so we will be speaking for them at a council meeting with a signed petition to push for the shelter to become a no kill shelter.
