Letter to the Editor: Can you spell cronyism?

It seems apparent that some Front Royal Town Council members are gung ho to give Kratos a contract for redevelopment. Is it a coincidence that a former council member, former town manager and contractor for solar electrical generation are trying to push solar generation again?

It is apparent to me that some of our newly elected council members have in mind to get a former town manager back into town government. Can you spell cronyism?

Local government like our federal government is not immune to poor decisions. When dealing with contractors, ask, "What is your track record?" Show me at least two satisfied customers. Does Kratos have any record at all?

Every town in the valley has tried to deal with the loss of business in downtown areas. The success of business has more to do with the nature of the business than the location.
We need to get the very best advisers available with a proven track record. To do otherwise indicates poor judgment. Giving business to our buddies should not enter into it.

Solar electrical generation should be a nonstarter. It cost many times more to generate with solar panels than tried and true systems. It's plain to me that Kratos simply wants to sell its solar generation. The taxpayers of Front Royal would be on the hook for an economically poor decision. Wake up Front Royal and attend Town Council meetings and voice your concern.

Harry Reed, Front Royal
