Letter to the Editor: Sirens OK in a rural area

Editor:

Because of the recent issues surrounding Strasburg's fire siren, I plan to start a private volunteer fire department in Oranda.

I talked with the Shenandoah County Planning and Zoning Office on Feb. 28 and found there is no law prohibiting the use of a fire siren in the country or rural area.
