Letter to the Editor: No tax increases in Shenandoah County

Editor:

Shenandoah County Supervisor Dennis Morris does not work for the Board of Supervisors. He represents all who live in his district. I can appreciate him not making comments, but he needs to know District 5 votes "no" to higher taxes!

Mr. Morris' email has changed and he has not notified your constituents. In my experience, he has not responded to my phone calls or emails, and when he makes a promise to meet - he doesn't!

His farm bill is passing and he has not consulted with his constituents about what they think. I would love to live on a farm, but I cannot afford one! Not all of us have the luxury of irrigating for water (no water rates on that or sewer for what goes in the ground!),or raising our own food (dinner on the hoof).

I respect farming. I come from a long line of farming. However, my point being, his constituents are being choked and he appears not to notice.

I can honesty say, in the many times I have tried to meet, he has gone no further than to send me a letter stating that he would call to plan the meeting.

So hear me Mr. Morris: no tax increases!

Rex Ingram, Maurertown
