Letter to the Editor: Walter Duncan was a great man

Front Royal and Warren County lost one of its greatest leaders on Feb. 24 when Walter Duncan passed away.

Walter was a kind, generous, committed public servant who loved his community. He had encyclopedic knowledge of Warren County's and Front Royal's history, and helped so many people in so many ways.

I had the privilege of serving as senator for Warren County for 12 years, and I so enjoyed working with Walter, and often asked for his advice and counsel.

Walter Duncan was a great man and all of us should try to emulate his vision and unselfish approach to governing.
