What a kick it must have been for those who started a fire at E. Wilson Morrison Elementary School in Front Royal on Wednesday evening.
Were they watching as fire trucks roared up to the scene, sirens blaring? How thrilling it must have been for them to know that they had caused so much commotion, damage and the closure of school on Thursday.
They must have been giddy with power over that scene and the impact they had on students and their families - parents had to scramble to either find child care or stay home from work as a result.
That feeling of euphoria may be short-lived. Warren County Sheriff Daniel T. McEathron said his office has identified two teen-aged suspects in the case. They have been charged with four felonies and three misdemeanors under juvenile petitions.
Good. If they are determined to be the culprits, let's make sure this is one lesson they won't forget.
