In the April 3 edition of the Northern Virginia Daily, syndicated columnist Mona Charen described a disturbing, liberal view on abortion and the extent to which pro-abortion politicians and providers will go to support "choice."
In stark contrast to these gruesome stories, New Eve Ministries, a nonprofit organization in Frederick County, is supporting life.
New Eve's Maternity Home provides shelter and loving support to women in a crisis pregnancy. The Home benefited from a full house fundraiser Saturday night. My husband and I had the pleasure of hosting a table and sharing stories of the success of the organization.
While New Eve and the Home are still in their "infancy," the staff and volunteers have assisted seven women and their six children in the last two years. New Eve volunteers provide mentoring, rides, education, and companionship to women who choose life despite their difficult situations.
Politicians and health care providers fall on both sides of the "life" issue. I am proud to say my husband Mark chooses life both as a political candidate and as a doctor.
Actions speak louder than words, and the actions of volunteers, staff and financial supporters were quite evident Saturday night.
