Letter to the Editor: Don't use your beliefs to interfere with others

Editor:

I get so tired of seeing these comments based on "religious beliefs."

The Constitution guarantees freedom of religion and at the same time guaratees freedom from religion. If an individual's religious beliefs keeps him from approving of abortions or homosexuality -- fine. Stay that way. But do not use your beliefs to interfere with the beliefs of others.

I personally do not care for abortion or homosexuality, but I am not going to interfere with the choices made by other human beings. It is up to the woman to decide if it is necessary to terminate an unwanted pregnancy, and nobody else's!

I always wonder just how many of the anti-abortion crowd have adopted unwanted children. Has Mitt Romney adopted any kids?

And reading the comment about the person whose partner passed away and had the decedent's family come in and take everything, leaving the bereaved homeless, is anything but a "Christian" thing to do.

I am like Mohandas Ghandi. "I like your Christ, but I don't like your Christians. They are so unlike your Christ."

Bob Brookfield, Wardensville, W.Va.
