Letter to the Editor: Pass the taxi regulations

Editor:

As the head of Wakefield Country Day School, I am writing to express my support for instituting a more rigid taxi ordinance in Front Royal.

During the school year, international students who study at WCDS often use taxi service from Front Royal to transport them to and from airports. I need to feel confident that these students are in safe hands when they step into a taxi.

I urge the Town Council and mayor to pass the proposed regulations they currently are reviewing that would bar registered sex offenders and anyone with criminal convictions such as felonies from receiving permits to drive.
