Letter to the Editor: Are we being gouged on gas prices?

Editor:

Referencing Mr. Linwood McInturff's letter "Why is gas cheaper in Harrisonburg?"

Yeah, crazy isn't it? I assume that the Harrisonburg folks are making a comfortable profit. And I would guess that they're not selling at a loss. That would make it seem that we're being gouged in our area (and in Winchester).

Keep in mind that the extra 30 to 40 cents is not for a fill-up, it's for each and every gallon. And unlike milk, that you normally buy 1 or 2 gallons of, a gasoline purchase is normally 10 to 30 gallons.

Mike O'Hara, Edinburg
