Letter to the Editor: Cuccinelli, Webert have mean-spirited agenda

Editor:

Spiteful extremist Republicans shut down the federal government, throwing thousands upon thousands of Virginians out of work and jeopardizing the commonwealth's economy.

The next target for these desperate Republicans is Richmond. Gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli and delegates like Michael Webert must be stopped.

Cuccinelli and Webert embrace a mean-spirited social agenda that is hostile to women, public education and progressive, bipartisan government. These politicians are hopelessly out of step with the voters of Fauquier, Warren, Rappahannock and Culpeper counties.

By contrast, Terry McAuliffe, the Democratic candidate for governor, is a pragmatic business leader devoted to honest government. And Colin Harris, Democratic candidate for House District 18, represents a bipartisan approach that will bring new life and new strength to Richmond.

Please vote Nov. 5.

Christopher Bonner, Warrenton
