Letter to the Editor: Rename the Redskins the Washington Braves

Editor:

Having been a Redskin fan for the better part of 60 years, I feel the urge to put in my 2 cents worth.

The Redskins came into being in 1937. They were from Boston where they were called The Boston Braves. The man responsible for this was George Preston Marshall, who was the owner of the Braves. Marshall was a well known music conductor, who was the son-in-law of Clark Griffith Sr. Griffith was the owner of the Washington Senators.

A common sense approach to this conflict would be for the Redskins to revert back to being the Washington Braves. I fully realize that common sense and Washington, D.C. are not synonymous.
