Letter to the Editor: Vote for candidates who will replace ‘Obamacare’

I am writing to reaffirm the truth about the negative impacts that “Obamacare” has had on Virginia.

At the beginning of this year, my family and I received a notice from our Insurance company that due to the Affordable Care Act, as of March 2014, we would no longer be able to continue with our policy, which we had had for about five years.

They then offered us a different policy. However, the monthly payment was going to go up $350 and our yearly deductible was going up $3,000.

We could not afford the increase in monthly payments so we lost our health insurance.
We began looking into other options but in the meantime, within weeks of losing my health insurance, I got very sick and spent 24 hours in the hospital. Since then I have had to undergo many tests.

My family and I have spent thousands of dollars due to our loss of insurance.

This is the main reason I am supporting Barbara Comstock and Ed Gillespie in the Tuesday’s election!

I am one of 250,000 Virginians who lost or will have lost their health insurance by January 2015 due to the “Affordable Care Act.”

I am voting for Comstock and Gillespie on Tuesday because we need leaders in Congress and the Senate who will work to repeal and replace this law with solutions that work. I urge you to do the same.
