Letter to the Editor: War against gay marriage is almost over

Thanks to the Supreme Court, the war against gay marriage is all but over and is definitely a cause for celebration in the long struggle for equal rights for all Americans

I’m sorry that Pastor Harold Wetzel [in a letter to the editor] regards the court’s refusal to hear the appeals of opponents of gay marriage, thus expanding to 30 the states that allow gay marriage, as an occasion for mourning.

Since the good pastor freely quotes the Bible to justify his concern that God will allow us to experience the implied dire consequences of our actions, he must therefore believe that homosexuals should be put to death. Leviticus 20-13: “If man lieth with mankind as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they surely will be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.”

It should be noted that the accepted method of execution when those words were written was by stoning. I can’t help but wonder if the good pastor is willing to cast the first stone.
