Letter to the Editor: Kudos to rescue workers

I read many letters and articles in this newspaper and others criticizing and lambasting the public employees who work for Shenandoah County. This will not be one of those letters.

On Nov. 1, I had a hunting accident while hunting near the top of the Three Mile Mountain. Personnel from the Orkney Springs, Woodstock, Conicville, and Edinburg rescue squads came to my rescue in response to this unfortunate event.

These young men and women got me out of a tough spot — only they will know what I mean. So thank you for your care, professionalism and attention to my injuries. I will never forget what you did for me. I’m recovering well, thanks to you all.

Ron Golliday, Edinburg
