Letter to the Editor: Thankful for support

On behalf of the Fellowship Committee for Special Events at Shenandoah Valley Westminster-Canterbury (SVWC), we want to thank our board trustees, residents, staff, friends of SVWC, and the local businesses that helped make our 2014 Fall Fashion Show a successful event.

The show is a fundraiser for SVWC’s Fellowship Fund, which was established to provide confidential financial assistance to qualified residents who, despite careful planning and saving, find themselves in need of support. Since the fund’s inception in 1997, the Fellowship Fund has provided over $1.8 million in financial assistance. We are proud to announce that this year’s show raised over $10,000, which benefits residents now and in the future.

It takes the generosity and volunteerism of many organizations and individuals to make an event successful. Thank you to all the businesses that provided us a preview of their winter fashions.

Thank you to all advertisers in our program, and also to the printer for creating such a lovely printed presentation. We’d also like to acknowledge our volunteers and models. Your participation and service played a large part in the event’s entertainment and execution!

Lastly, to all our attendees – we are so glad you came! We hope you had a wonderful time previewing upcoming fashions while enjoying good food and fellowship with friends and loved ones.

Everyone’s genuine care and support for our residents mean so much … especially the extra “offering” that was made by a table to support the cause — we are so very thankful. Speaking for everyone here at SVWC, we feel truly blessed to be part of a larger community that cares and embraces SVWC’s mission to care for those who have already cared for us. Thank you.
