Letter to the Editor: Berg to host town hall meeting
On Saturday, Del. Mark Berg is hosting his second town hall of 2015. This is a great opportunity to hear first hand about bills that were submitted, passed out of the House and Senate and sent to the governor awaiting his approval or veto. It is also a chance for constituents to ask questions or share concerns about issues.
The event will take place at Middletown Town Office on Church Street from 10:30-11:30 a.m. This past short session of 45 days in Richmond was crammed full of appointments, hearings, committee meetings and more. Having had the opportunity to be in Richmond twice during the session, I can attest to the long days and hectic schedules for Mark and his fellow legislators.
I am anxious for Mark’s constituents to hear not only his summary of the legislation but also his personal philosophy and analysis of the bills themselves. He carefully studies the impact of potential legislation, including its cost of tax dollars, personal liberty and privacy, as well as the constitutionality of the potential law.
The doors will open at 10 a.m. Refreshments will be provided.
Debbie Berg, Winchester
