Letter to the Editor: We need a ‘back to basics’ election

Rand Paul’s entry into the presidential race is a welcome early development. Hopefully, since he and Ted Cruz are the official candidates for the GOP nomination, they will be able to set the terms of the debates.

We very much need this to be a “back to basics” election. It is imperative that we eliminate several federal agencies and thus make deep structural reform to restore constitutional government.

If we elect someone like Jeb Bush or Hillary Clinton, we will have a more complicated tax system, a nightmarish health care situation, and an unaccountable Federal Reserve system. Surely we can do better than this!
