Letter to the Editor: Kudos to Shenandoah County school employees
As our school division celebrates Teacher Appreciation Week, we want to take this time to thank every employee of the Shenandoah County Public Schools for work that they do for the students whom they serve each and every day! In the fast-paced, hectic world in which we live, we often do not have the opportunity to stop and reflect on the critically important work that we as a school division are doing. We are making an investment in our
Our employees are provided with the opportunity to impact the lives of the students who board our buses, eat in our cafeterias, feel safe in our facilities, and benefit from the many different services we offer. The experiences and lessons that our employees provide our children in their multiple roles serve as the foundation for the future success of our county, state, nation, and world. Our community is the beneficiary of the work that they are doing with our students!
The Shenandoah County Public Schools is a proud school division that has achieved success in multiple settings. This success would not be possible without the dedication and talents of our exceptional employees! Our employees are role models who diligently labor every day for the students in Shenandoah County. In the words of William Butler Yeats, our employees are not “filling a pail”, but are “lighting a fire.” They are lighting a fire in our students that will burn for years to come in the form of educated citizens who are leading our community as educators, health care providers, public safety officials, engineers, and community leaders.
Author Jim Collins writes, “Great vision without great people is irrelevant.” We are thankful that we have the honor to work side by side with all employees as we all strive together to ensure that our students have the skills, knowledge, and opportunities that they will need in order to become successful members of a global community. Please know that we greatly appreciate all of your sacrifices, talents, and efforts to ensure that all of our students experience success.
Thank you, again, for everything that you do!
