Letter to the Editor: Kentucky official should resign her position
I’ve been following with some interest the situation in Kentucky where the county clerk is refusing to obey a court order to sell marriage licenses to gay people.
I would remind that woman that she is a public servant in her job. If her version of religion means so much to her , then she should resign her position.
In cases like this I am reminded of something my mother told to a neighbor lad. “Your rights end where mine begin.”
If the courts say certain kinds of people have a right to get married, then her refusal due to her beliefs is wrong.
