Letter to the Editor: Candidate excelled in former post
During my tenure as mayor of the Town of Front Royal, I had the pleasure of working with Rhonda North, who was our clerk of council.
I found that Mrs. North consistently exceeded my expectations, as well as those of the members of Council, in the performance of her duties. Her guidance was exceptional and her recommendations were always well prepared. Mrs. North often took on additional responsibilities, such as negotiating the town’s cable franchise, providing oversight of the creation of the Downtown Business District and providing administrative oversight of several construction projects.
She routinely functioned as the assistant town manager, in addition to her duties as the clerk of council. Her dedication to providing a high level of customer service was unparalleled. During my tenure, Mrs. North was rated among the top 1 percent of the town’s employees. Her outstanding performance was not only recognized locally, but also by her peers from the Region III Virginia Municipal Clerk’s Association, who named her 1999 Clerk of the Year.
I cannot think of anyone who would do a better job of being Warren County’s next clerk of the circuit court than Rhonda North.
George E. Banks, Front Royal
