Letter to the Editor: Democrats created entitlement program

Editor:

I would like to respond to Michael Cash’s letter of April 6. Mr. Cash’s letter is wrong on so many levels, I hardly know where to start. For the sake of brevity, I will pick only two:
1. Our president told us, over and over again, that if we already had insurance, we could keep it, and would not be impacted by Obamacare. On every occasion, he either lied or didn’t know what was in the act.
Take your pick. Untold numbers of people have lost their health insurance because it did not meet the criteria of the Affordable Care Act. In many cases, these people do not qualify for assistance under the act, and are, therefore, left high and dry.
2. What Obama did was exactly what he and his party wanted to do: they created another massive entitlement system costing taxpayers millions of dollars, but ensuring that many more votes would be coming to their party in ensuing elections. The only people who have benefited from Obamacare are those who had no insurance, and only have it now because they are now members of a new entitlement program.
