Letter to the Editor: Don’t tear down Brill’s Grocery

Editor:

Tearing down Brill’s Grocery is unthinkable, an idea that has no respect for the history of the town nor for those of us who love it and call it our hometown.

At least preserve the facade of the brick building and the dear Brill’s Grocery sign that honor the memory of the hard working businessman who operated his store there for years.

My parents moved to Strasburg when I was about 4 years old. From my earliest days, my memories of being inside that store are happy ones. Every time I come to town, that building and sign are reminders of how much I love my hometown.

Strasburg council members should concentrate on filling empty stores with new thriving businesses and think less about green space. There is enough green space in downtown already!
