Letter to the Editor: Is Clinton the right choice?

According to statements made by Hillary Clinton at a fundraiser in New York, you could put half of Trump’s supporters in a basket of deplorables. Synonyms for that last word include disgraceful, shameful and wretched, among many others. She continued to lambast those supporters as racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic and, as she said, “You name it.”

That hateful rhetoric ruffled a lot of feathers among voters and she was reading from a prepared speech. Not to worry, however, because Hillary didn’t get a free pass on her Benghazi decisions, her email security violations and her Clinton Foundation “pay to play” scandals without a lot of help from her friends.

Her insult included quite a sweep of innocent American voters and I must say that I’m a little offended as a serious and informed American voter to be spitefully labeled by an entrenched member of the political class. If you follow Hillary’s record or scandal from Arkansas to presidential nominee, you’ll note that her self-righteous effort to pass judgement on others may be a stretch.

How does it feel to know that a potential leader of your country regards you as deplorable, regardless of your gender, race, ethnicity, party affiliation or military status. Your place in her basket is a result of your support for Donald Trump regardless of your status in America.

Hillary Clinton has no right to demonize and insult Americans because of her partisan views. Her political experience entitles her to a $2.85 million home in Washington and a $1.7 million home in Chappaqua, New York, but not a lock on what is right for America and what fraction of our society is basket case deplorable.

She should lose support among voters and polling should reflect that, but she seems to be above the law and by this latest account, oblivious to the feelings of American voters. Her political rationale reduces American citizens to items in a basket. Is Hillary the proper choice to solve problems in America?
