Letter to the Editor: This is kind of person Trump is

Editor:

Donald Trump has publicly insulted countless persons, places and things during this campaign.  A few examples will show the kind of person Trump is.

Donald Trump is a “birther.”  A few persons, without a scrap of evidence, hold that Barack Obama is not eligible to be president because allegedly he was not born in the United States.  These types have long been considered among the lowest forms of American political life.

Donald Trump made fun of the physical disabilities of a reporter covering his campaign.

Donald Trump belittled the facial appearance of the only woman who opposed him in the primaries.

Donald Trump said that Mexican immigrants to the United States are rapists.

Donald Trump falsely asserted that thousands of Muslims in New Jersey celebrated the September 11 attacks.

Donald Trump described women he didn’t like as “fat pigs,” “dogs,” “slobs,” and “disgusting animals.”

Donald Trump put down Republican Sen. John McCain because he was a prisoner of war during the Vietnam conflict.

Donald Trump badmouthed a federal judge because his parents were immigrants from Mexico.

Donald Trump repeatedly insulted the parents of a GI killed in the mideast fighting for the U.S. because they are Muslims.

Donald Trump argued that the U.S. should torture terrorists and kill their children.

Donald Trump falsely stated that the father of one of his primary opponents, Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, had a role in the assassination of President Kennedy and for good measure, derided the senator’s wife.

Donald Trump said he wished a protester at one of his rallies would be punched and “carried out on a stretcher.”

If a candidate for sewer commissioner of Podunk made such statements, he would not only sacrifice the election but also any respect of his townspeople.  But a candidate for the highest office in our land?  Throw into the mix that he’s been married three times and it defies belief when we read that Donald Trump enjoys the support of many evangelicals.
