Editorial: Make your opinion count
They’re the sign of the times, and some are being defaced or purloined.
One reader posted this note online below a Northern Virginia Daily story about political yard signs planted throughout the valley:
“Someone tried to destroy my Hillary sign but it was not the average sign and withstood it. I know who did it, but can’t prove it. This is such a disturbing thing. Isn’t everyone entitled to express their opinion?”
Sure, you may frown when you see a Trump-Pence or Clinton-Kaine, but why would you go onto someone’s property and risk possible jail time and a fine to steal or deface one of these signs?
Use that energy constructively and do it the legal way – go to the polls on Nov. 8. Vote for your candidates.
