Letter to the Editor: Rebuttal to Medicaid commentary

Editor:

John Massoud’s commentary of Oct. 7 claims that Virginia will be on the hook for nearly $1 billion in costs in 2022 if we expand Medicaid.

His claim is dubious at best.

The state department responsible for administering the Medicaid program  has issued a report that says our state will have a net gain of $34 million through 2022, and that is not to mention the thousands of jobs that will result and the local hospitals that will survive.

Who are you going to believe, the folks who do work for you or the owner of a taxi company?
