Editorial: Break the gridlock
Kudos to Responsible Leadership for Shenandoah County for taking steps to get local government moving again.
The group wants Shenandoah County supervisors to add an at-large board member who would end 3-3 tie votes that, according to the group’s Facebook page, has put the board in an “intractable state of gridlock.”
The addition of a seventh member would help prevent such ties, as long as all members are present to vote.
We encourage the supervisors to consider this group’s proposal seriously.
