Letter to the Editor: Virginia needs to expand Medicaid

Editor:
State Del. Todd Gilbert and his Republican cohorts in the Legislature have already cost this state over $10 billion by refusing to expand Medicaid, not to mention the deaths they have caused to folks whose lives could have been saved by receiving needed medical care.
Even the Republicans in Congress are willing to let this expansion stand and continue funding it in some way.  Please tell me what is wrong with our Republican state legislators.  Will they never admit that they were wrong?  I mean, come on Mr. Gilbert.  It’s not every day that you ask us to give away $10 billion and let thousands of our neighbors die.
How much more are you going to cost us?  How many more deaths will it take?  My God, man!  Get a grip.
Michael Cash, Maurertown
