Letter to the Editor: Sound the sirens
Well, here is a letter not on or about politics.
I don’t understand why the fire sirens no longer sound off for all to hear. I feel at one time most of the locals counted on them for warnings about approaching storms, tornadoes or fires.
For some folks like me – 92 years young – we are not sitting in front of the TV, or the internet. Some of us are outside, on the porch, in the yard or in the bed! When those sirens blasted the airs we all knew trouble was brewing and knew what to do to protect ourselves without waiting to hear from the TV. By that time it could be too late!
I say put those sirens back in the air and let’s make some noise.
