Letters to Editor submissions policy
We welcome letters and opinion essays that are well written.
Letters must be 350 or fewer words and must not include website addresses, phone numbers or physical addresses, or material pulled from another source without attribution. Letters must not include personal attacks, hate language or potentially libelous statements or allegations.
We do not accept letters of endorsement for businesses or candidates, or letters that include solicitations of donations. We only accept letters from readers in our circulation area.
Letters may address or be a rebuttal to a letter to the editor, commentary or news story, but only one rebuttal letter will be accepted per letter writer.
Commentaries must be 750 words or shorter, with facts checked and sources of material cited. We require the author’s name, address and phone number as well as a sentence about the author. A color photo of the author is welcome, and an email address that readers can respond to is encouraged.
Submissions must not be a direct endorsement. We will accept one letter in a 30-day time period per writer about a specific candidate. We will stop accepting submissions about election issues or candidates by 5 p.m. on the Tuesday before election day.
Email submissions to firstname.lastname@example.org, submit them online at http://www.nvdaily.com/submit-news, or mail them to:
