Letter to the Editor: Kerry’s book tour least of problems

Editor:

So the former United States Secretary of State John Kerry is out on a publicity tour marketing his newly released book, “Every Day is Extra,” and current Secretary of State Mike Pompeo suggests that Kerry’s communication with Iran is unprecedented because Iran has been accused of sponsoring terrorism.

Has Pompeo been living in a news vacuum? Does he even know the definition of the word unprecedented?

Pompeo works for a White House that has given “unprecedented” an entirely new meaning because there are not enough words in the English language to document every unprecedented topic this White House has defined, so here are just a few:

• It’s “unprecedented” that the spoiled child in the White House, called the president, has publicly and verbally offended nearly all allies of the United States.

• It’s “unprecedented” that the spoiled child in the White House, called the president, has befriended autocratic leaders who are, without a doubt, enemies of the United States – and our allies.

• It’s “unprecedented” that the spoiled child in the White House, called the president, has lied – straight-up, bold-faced lied on national television – to the American people.

• It’s “unprecedented” that the spoiled child in the White House, called the president, has endorsed white nationalism, openly used foul language, offended women and the disabled, banished children, and made racists statements publically.

• It’s “unprecedented” that the spoiled child in the White House, called the president, has promoted his own business while in office and profited from this business.

Therefore…it’s unprecedented – as in totally never happened before – that a federal judge has allowed the attorney generals of Maryland and the District of Columbia to proceed with the discovery process in a case against the president of the United States for profiting from foreign governments, basically enacting the Emoluments Clause in the U.S. Constitution.

That’s unprecedented, Pompeo.

John Kerry’s book tour is the least of our nation’s worries.
