1 (14 oz.) pkg. Gingerbread mix, divided
¾ c. water
¼ c. firmly packed light brown sugar
½ c. butter, divided
½ c. chopped pecans
2 (21 oz.) cans apple pie filling
vanilla ice cream
Stir together 2 c. gingerbread mix and ¾ c. water until smooth; set aside. Stir together remaining gingerbread mix and brown sugar; cut in ¼ c. butter until mixture crumbles. Stir in pecans - set aside. Combine apple pie filling and remaining ¼ c. butter in saucepan. Cook stirring often over medium heat until heated thoroughly, about 5-6 minutes. Spoon apple mixture into greased 11x7 baking dish. Spoon smooth gingerbread mixture evenly over hot apples. Sprinkle with pecan mixture. Bake at 375 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Serve with ice cream.
