Apple Nut Cake

1 1/2 c. cooking oil
2 c. sugar
3 eggs (well beaten)
2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. walnuts
3 c. diced apples

Sift flour and baking soda together; add oil, sugar, eggs and vanilla - mix well. Stir in apples and walnuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes in a 9x13 glass baking dish.

Topping:
1 stick margarine
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. milk

In medium saucepan, bring margarine, sugar and milk to boil. Boil for 2 1/2 - 3 minutes. Cool and spread on cake.
