Mom's Homemade Bread

4 c. warm water
1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. canola oil
2 T. dry yeast
flour enough to make a soft dough

Mix warm water with sugar, salt and yeast. Add melted shortening and enough flour to mix with spoon. Then add flour and knead dough until soft, but not sticky. Place in a bowl and let rise in a warm place. Punch down when doubled. Let rise again and then make rolls or loaves and place back in greased pans. Let rise again to the top of the pan. Bake in 350 degree oven for 35 minutes.
