French Cabbage Soup

1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1 small or 1/2 medium cabbage
2 c. chopped celery
46 oz. tomato or vegetable juice
1 pkg onion soup mix
1 T. sugar

Brown the meat and drain. Chop the cabbage and celery coarsely. Microwave the cabbage and celery in water on high for 10 minutes. Mix meat, cabbage (with the water) and remaining ingredients in a pot with a lid. Simmer at least 2 hours. Add more water if it is too thick.
