2 pieces of flat bread (such as Finnish flat bread)
1-2 medium tomatoes, sliced
20-30 lg. basil leaves
8 lg. slices of fresh mozzarella cheese
salt & pepper to taste
olive oil (for drizzling)
balsamic vinegar (for drizzling)
Make flat bread fresh or warm store-bought flat bread briefly in the oven.
Place the flat bread on a large plate and cover surface with basil leaves.
Place mozzarella cheese slices atop leaves (4 slices per caprese). Place tomato slices atop mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle caprese with salt and pepper to taste. Drizzle olive oil, then balsamic vinegar over entire caprese. Cut into fourths and serve.
