Satisfying Shepherd’s Pie

1 lb. ground beef
1 onion, chopped
1 envelope onion soup mix
1 (12 oz.) jar beef gravy
1 tsp. garlic powder
½ tsp. black pepper
1 c. frozen whole kernel corn, thawed
1 ½ c. frozen sliced carrots, thawed
1 c. frozen peas, thawed
5 c. prepared mashed potatoes
paprika for sprinkling

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Coat a 2 qt. casserole dish with cooking spray. In a large skillet, brown ground beef and onion. Drain excess liquid if necessary. Add soup mix, gravy, garlic powder and black pepper. Mix well.
Add corn, carrots and peas. Place mixture in prepared casserole dish. Spread mashed potatoes over the top and sprinkle with paprika. Bake 30-35 mins. or until heated through.
