GORE — A fire destroyed the home of a family of four in town on Monday morning.

Firefighters responded at 9:30 a.m. to a fire on Pine Top Road that destroyed a double-wide trailer.

"When we got there [the fire] was fully involved," said Don Jackson, chief of the Gainesboro Fire Department.

Firefighters had the fire under control in about 10 minutes.

The family that resided in the trailer wasn't at home, and there were no injuries, said Jackson.

"We weren't sure at first, but we were able to account for the residents," he said. "They were out food shopping."

The Red Cross is coordinating services for the family, Jackson said.

The blaze is still under investigation, Jackson said.
