SU's Flint, Hargbol garner honors
Daily Staff Report - sports@nvdaily.com Shenandoah University seniors Katherine Flint and Alexis Hargbol both earned All-USA South Conference honors in selections announced Wednesday by the conference office. Flint, the women's basketball team's leading scorer this season, earned second-team honors for the second straight year, while Hargbol was an honorable-mention selection. Flint led Shenandoah in scoring at 12.5 points per game, earned all-tournament honors at Elizabethtown after leading the Hornets to a tournament championship, and also had a team-high 122 assists in 2009-10. On Feb. 2, Flint became the 16th woman in school history to score 1,000 career points with her final point in an 89-38 win over N.C. Wesleyan. Flint was beaten to the 1,000-point barrier by her classmate Hargbol, who cracked it in a win over Wilkes College in December. A three-time All-USA South Conference selection, Hargbol finished her career 10th all-time in points and second in rebounds. This season, Hargbol was a two-time USA South Conference Player of the Week honoree, a member of the Susquehanna and Elizabethtown all-tournament teams and the Elizabethtown tournament MVP. In the classroom, she was a second-team Academic All-District III selection by ESPN The Magazine. The Hornets' final honoree came on the conference's all-sportsmanship team, where junior Crystal Williams was the school's representative to the 10-woman squad.
