Area trio among Rams' signees
A trio of area football players are among a 16-member recruiting class announced by NCAA Division II Shepherd University on Wednesday. Handley's David Carter, a defensive back/wide receiver, lettered in football, basketball and tennis for the Judges. He recorded 106 tackles and three interceptions this past season. He earned All-Northwestern District honors at wide receiver. Handley's Elijah Washington, a linebacker/defensive lineman, lettered in football, basketball and tennis for the Judges. He earned All-Northwestern District, All-Region II, and All-State honors. Washington was a four-year starter on offense and defense. James Wood's Trae Tinsman, a quarterback, lettered in football and basketball for the Colonels. Tinsman gained All-Northwestern District honors as a senior as he completed 92-of-190 passes for 1,249 yards and 12 touchdowns.
