Host Cougars outlast Strasburg

MANASSAS PARK -- Manassas Park came up with the final goal in a close 3-2 girls soccer win against Strasburg on Thursday.

The Cougars led 1-0 at halftime, but that advantage only lasted about 30 seconds into the second half when the Rams' Taylor Hill got loose to score the equalizing goal. Manassas Park went ahead again later in the half on a penalty kick, but Hill responded with a goal off a free kick to forge the tie again. Manassas Park's Rocio Angulo tallied the game-winning goal with about 10 minutes to play.

The Cougars outshot Strasburg, 18-17. Goalkeeper Anna Sparacio had 10 saves for Strasburg (8-6, 2-6 Bull Run).
