Shenandoah roundup: Hornets climb golf standings
Daily Staff Report - sports@nvdaily.com NORFOLK -- Shenandoah University improved by 16 strokes to help itself finish seventh at the Virginia Wesleyan Golf Invitational Sunday afternoon. After shooting a collective 348 on Day 1 of the two-day, 36-hole event, the Hornets shot 332 Sunday afternoon to help clinch a seventh-place finish in the eight-school tournament. Senior Josh Wiegand paced SU over the par-72, 7,138-yard Bayville Golf Course with a six-over-par 78. Junior Derek Snarr and freshman John Judy, the Day 1 medalist, both carded 84.
