FRONT ROYAL -- Warren County snapped a four-game losing streak as its bats came to life in a 10-2 win over Fauquier on Tuesday in Evergreen District action.

The Wildcats had 13 hits in the victory.

"We've been really struggling hitting the ball," Warren County coach Vernon Mathews said. "We've had some slow starts, and tonight we came out pretty good, put a couple runs up early.

"We've been pressing a little lately, and this was a much-needed win for us."

Tyler Post went 2-for-2 with a solo home run to lead the Wildcats (5-6, 1-2 Evergreen). Logan Hibbs went 3-for-4 with two triples and two runs scored, and Ryan Tierney was 2-for-4 with a double and a triple for Warren County. Tyler Moody picked up the win on the mound, allowing only three hits and striking out 10 for Warren County. Damien Wright went 2-for-2 with a double and a stolen base for the Wildcats.

East Rockingham 3, Central 1

WOODSTOCK -- The Falcons struggled to get hits in a Shenandoah District loss to the Eagles.

Central had only four hits in the game. Adam Marston went 2-for-4 with an RBI to lead the Falcons (3-6, 2-4 Shenandoah). Sean Semones went 1-for-4 for Central.

Skyline 10, Handley 6

WINCHESTER -- A four-run seventh helped the Hawks defeat the Judges in Northwestern District action.

Jacob Rudolph took the loss for the Judges. Skyline led 6-5 entering the seventh and then scored in the top of the seventh. Andrew Lins and Ryan Hayes each had two hits.

Seton 11, R-MA 6

MANASSAS -- The Yellow Jackets were unable to take advantage of their opportunities in a Delaney Athletic Conference loss to the Conquistadors.

R-MA had the bases loaded with no outs in the top of the fifth and trailing 5-3, but didn't score in the inning. In the bottom of the sixth, the Conquistadors scored six runs to put the game out of reach.

Ryan Pile went 2-for-4 with two runs scored, and Neil Dutton was 1-for-4 with three RBIs for the Yellow Jackets (2-5, 1-2 DAC).

Tuscarora 3, James Wood 1

WINCHESTER -- The Huskies broke a 1-1 tie with two runs in the fifth and held on for the non-district win over the Colonels.

Garret Cunningham went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and Russell Repasky was 1-for-2 for the Colonels (4-8, 2-2 Northwestern). Tyler Murphy had a double for the Colonels.

Millbrook 7, Brentsville 4

NOKESVILLE -- Drew Brathwaite had a pair of hits and two RBIs as Millbrook picked up a 7-4 baseball win over Brentsville on Tuesday.

Brant Butler added a pair of hits and an RBI, and Brady Baker had a hit and an RBI for the Pioneers.

Zach Hughes pitched four innings for the win for Millbrook (2-9). Daniel Nawrocki closed it out with three scoreless innings to earn the save.

Softball

Luray 14, Stonewall Jackson 1, 5 innings

QUICKSBURG -- The Generals only managed two hits in a Shenandoah District loss to the Bulldogs. The game was halted after five innings due to the mercy rule.

Kasey McMaster had the Generals' first hit in the fourth inning. In the fifth inning, Taylor Stover led off with a triple and scored on a fielder's choice.

Clarke County 13, Manassas Park 0, 5 innings

BERRYVILLE -- Sarah Herndon had a big day in the circle and at the plate to lead the Eagles past the Cougars in Bull Run District action. The game was stopped after five innings due to the mercy rule.

Herndon pitched four innings, allowing only two hits and striking out 10. She also went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Olivia Gore and Chelsea Nelson each went 2-for-3 with an RBI for the Eagles (7-5, 3-0 Bull Run).

James Wood 4, Tuscarora 3

WINCHESTER -- The Colonels rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh to top the Huskies in non-district action.

Charlotte Viands led off the bottom of the seventh with a single and moved to second on a sac bunt by Whitney Dick. Amanda Higgins followed with an RBI double. Higgins then scored the winning run on an error from a ball hit by Megan Christian.

Viands went 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs for the Colonels (9-2-1, 3-1 Northwestern). Rachel Largent went 2-for-2 with a run scored. Kierstyn Peacoe had seven strikeouts in picking up the win in the circle.

"We just don't quit," James Wood coach Ted McDaniel said. "We don't give up. Tonight we found a way to win. We didn't play our best, but when you don't play your best and you still manage to win you know you're doing things right."

Skyline 3, Handley 0, 6 innings

WINCHESTER -- The Hawks had only five hits, but used them well in a Northwestern District win over the Judges. The game was called in the sixth inning due to lightning.

Logan Gallogly, Jessy Shipman and Ashley Siburt each went 1-for-2 with a single for the Judges.

Brentsville 10, Millbrook 0, 5 innings

NOKESVILLE -- Brentsville pitchers Ashley Wark and Abby Carpenter combined for a five-inning no-hitter on Tuesday against Millbrook.

Millbrook dropped to 1-11 with the loss.

Girls soccer

George Mason 8, Strasburg 0

STRASBURG -- The Mustangs swarmed the Rams from the outset and didn't let up in a Bull Run District win over the Rams.

The Mustangs outshot the Rams, 53-1. Anna Sparacio had 24 saves for the Rams (3-4-1, 1-3 Bull Run). The Rams only trailed 2-0 at the half.

Boys soccer

Stonewall Jackson 3, Luray 1

LURAY --The Generals built an early lead and held on for the Shenandoah District win over the Bulldogs.

Jonas Jacuinde scored only seven minutes into the game for the Generals (9-2, 7-0 Shenandoah). Roberto and Edgar Cardoso each had a goal for the Generals. Lucas Martinez added an assist for Stonewall Jackson. The Generals outshot the Bulldogs, 17-10.

Clarke County 1, Manassas Park 1

MANASSAS PARK -- Matt Moyer scored with 14 minutes left in regulation to tie the Eagles' match with the Cougars in a Bull Run District contest.

Moyer's goal was assisted by Jon Moya. The Cougars scored in the second minute of the match on a goal by Allen Loiva. The Eagles (7-1-1, 1-1-1 Bull Run) outshot the Cougars, 15-7.
