Miller wins qualifier for rained-out memorial race

WINCHESTER -- Jeremy Miller picked up the 24-lap qualifier on Friday at Winchester Speedway, but Mother Nature claimed the Saturday night main events.

Miller, who had the fastest time for the second annual Raye Vest Memorial 24-lap feature for Late Models, started from the pole with outside pole sitter Austin Hubbard. who lead the filed to the drop of the green with Miller taking the top spot.

In the Pure Stock Winchester/Potomac Challenge, it was Mike Bennett picking up the win. Bennett and Brian Luttrell led the field to the green. Bennett got past Luttrell on lap 16, moving Luttrell to second. Luttrell battled back, but could not hold the top spot and Bennett went on pick up the win. Luttrell claimed second, Mike Rose third, Potomac regular Kurt Zimmerman fourth and Danny Sullivan rounded out the top five.

In the U-Car main event, Joey Strosnider picked up the win over Brenda Alexander, Steve Fadeley, Doug Crank and fifth went to Josh Wilkins.
