Green commits to Delaware

Daily Staff Report
WINCHESTER -- It took Courtni Green some time to figure it out, but earlier this week she finally decided where she would play basketball next season.

The Millbrook senior announced Saturday afternoon that she gave the University of Delaware her verbal commitment on Thursday. Green and her family had a family cookout Saturday where she made her announcement.

Green, who had offers from numerous schools, said that as of Tuesday she was leaning toward Virginia Tech. Courtni's brother, Erick, is the starting point guard at Virginia Tech.
Courtni Green said that on Tuesday she sat down alone and really thought about it and felt Delaware was the best choice for her.

"I really felt like Delaware offered me everything I wanted," Courtni Green said. "I felt like they offered me the best opportunity."

Delaware plays in the Colonial Athletic Association. The Blue Hens finished third in the conference last year, and have one of the best players in the country in junior Elena Delle Donne.
