Prep roundup 1-17: Rizarri leads Colonels past Hawks

FRONT ROYAL -- Freshman Danielle Rizarri had 13 points to lead James Wood to an impressive victory over Skyline in Northwestern District girls basketball action on Tuesday.

Rizarri had three 3-pointers for the Colonels, who led 17-8 after the first quarter. Morgan Duncan and Whitney Dick had nine points each for the Colonels (8-6, 1-2 Northwestern). Taylor Henry led the Hawks (10-5, 0-3 Northwestern).

CHARLES TOWN (W.Va.) -- A strong third quarter helped the Pioneers rally past the Patriots in nondistrict action.
Millbrook trailed 27-21 at the half, but outscored the Patriots 23-17 in the third quarter to tie the game heading into the final eight minutes. Rze Culbreath had 21 points to lead the Pioneers (10-4, 1-2 Northwestern). Donte Harris and Cody Brooks had 11 points each for Millbrook.
