Mobley scores 1,000th point in Pioneers' win

WINCHESTER -- Alisha Mobley scored her 1,000th point in the second quarter, and led Millbrook to an 87-38 win over Skyline on Wednesday in girls basketball action.

Mobley finished the game with 24 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocks. She now has 1,007 points in her career. Courtni Green had 24 points and eight steals, and Sara Mead had two points, six assists and five steals for the Pioneers (20-0, 6-0 Northwestern).

Danielle Banks added 13 points for Millbrook. Oshene Kelly had 14 points and Taylor Henry added 10 for Skyline.

Tuscarora 61, James Wood 29
LEESBURG -- James Wood managed only four points in the first quarter in a nondistrict loss to the Huskies.

Whitney Dick led the Colonels (9-10, 1-5 Northwestern) with eight points.

Boys basketball
Clarke County 64, Manassas Park 59
MANASSAS PARK -- Davey Hardesty had 27 points to lead Clarke County to a win over Manassas Park in Bull Run District action.

Ethan Emmart had 14 points and Todd Benton added 10 for the Eagles (13-7, 8-4 Bull Run).

James Wood 87, Tuscarora 84
WINCHESTER -- The Colonels overcame a slow start and rallied for a nondistrict win over the Huskies.

The Colonels trailed 22-10 after the first quarter, but had 77 points in the final three quarters. Michael Carter had 22 points and five steals, and T.J. Bruce had 15 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks for the Colonels (8-12, 0-6 Northwestern). Cam Butler had 17 points and six assists, and Chad Potter had 13 points for James Wood.

William Monroe 65, Central 44
STANDARDSVILLE -- The Falcons started off slow and couldn't recover in a Bull Run District loss to the Dragons.
Travis Cooper led the Falcons (4-16, 2-10 Bull Run) with 23 points.
